Gold, Silver or Platinum for your wedding ring?

Buying a wedding ring is a very big decision and it is determined by how much money the person has to spend, what their skin conditions are and what is appealing to the couple visually. All of these factors will help the couple to decide if gold, silver or a platinum ring is best for their wedding. Choosing a ring is a very individualistic thing, everyone has different taste and different budgets, and so what may be right for one may not be right for another.

Gold, silver or platinum for a wedding Ring?

The first thing to consider is the skin type of the individual, do they have sensitive skin or are they allergic to certain ingredients. If this is the case Platinum would be a better choice for this individual. The next thing to consider is how much the couple has to spend on wedding rings, silver is the cheapest amongst the three metals so if the budget is small this may be the best choice for the couple. If the couple is more traditional they may want to purchase a 14 karat gold ring which is standard.

A gold ring is durable, it has great luster, quality and color and it is traditional. The common choice is usually 14 karat or higher and it comes in standard yellow or white gold for a wedding. It is less expensive than platinum. Platinum rings are the superior quality of the three metals, it is more durable, and it is tarnish resistant and hypoallergenic. The only downside is that platinum is very expensive and it is more rare than gold. Silver is the cheapest of the three metals but it is also of lower quality, it tarnishes easily and it discolors quickly. It is a soft metal therefore the life expectancy of silver is fairly short.

Of the three options Gold and Silver seem to be the most commonly chosen among couples, gold is very standard and silver can be custom made into a very unique one of a kind ring. The marrying couple will have to decide what is most important to them and what are they willing to settle with. If they are in a position where money is not an object than platinum is an excellent option. In either case the love and future promises of the new couple will be center stage on the big day, so every couple should get the ring that is best for their individual situation and love their choices whether it is gold, silver or platinum. Whatever the choice it should be mutually agreed upon.
